Stop Overthinking and Start Planning!

Let’s get right to the elephant in the room … yes, you are allowed to take time off as a business owner.

And that means a business owner at any stage of business too!

For some entrepreneurs, you may want and choose to work through the summer without breaks or vacations.

For other entrepreneurs, you may want to take time off to go to the cottage or fly somewhere or spend the summer with your kids or friends.

Or maybe you simply want some time to catch-up on life, gardening, or a new Netflix series.

All of these options are great and fit each person differently.

The best part is that there are still so many other choices too … why? Because you run your own business which means you are now in full control of how you choose to run your business.

One of the biggest reasons that people start their own business and leave the corporate world is because they want to control how they spend their time.

Unfortunately, many business owners get caught up in the day-to-day grind of running a business and managing a business. They lose track of time and before you know it, the summer is gone.

So today, right here and now, I want you to pause and truly think about how you want to spend your summer.

Do you want to continue the schedule you have? Do you want to work more, attend events, sell at markets, redo your web site?

Or do you want to stop working each day at noon and take weekends off?

Do you want to plan a week-long road trip or book a cottage?

If you yelled a resounding YES in your head, then I’m here to tell you that you can have you want. BUT, you need to take time and plan it.

If you scoffed at the thought of taking time off because of reason 1, 2 or 3, I’m also here to tell you that you can have what you want. You can take time off. Again, you need to take time and plan it.

And if you are the person who has read up to here and is feeling guilt or worry about taking time off, I’m here to assure you – you are allowed to take time off.

You are allowed to take a break.

You are allowed to go have fun or nap or sing at concerts or
go down the slide 10 times with your kids.

As business owners, there is this misconception that we must eat, breathe and sleep our businesses. But, that means the business is controlling you.

What happened to you starting a business to fulfill the dream you had day-in and day-out for years?

Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle. One that very few have the opportunity to experience. It’s time for you to start defining yours the way you want and planning to achieve the dreams that make you smile.
