Stop Letting Yourself Off the Hook …

In two months, we will say good-bye to 2024 and welcome in 2025!

As you read that line, does your mind start to race with all the things you still need to do?

Or does a carousel of images reminding you what you wanted to do this year but “just never found the time” whip through your head? Or maybe it’s a mash-up of both!

I can relate! Thousands upon thousands of people can relate.

Many people will simply choose to accept this fate of missed opportunities or have wishful thinking of ‘may be next year’.

But these negative associations to wants and goals start to break down our deep desire to reach new milestones and ultimately continue to grow. This mindset makes us feel guilty or disappointed in ourselves, so we are convinced to stop making New Year’s Resolutions and making goals all-together.

That moment when you let yourself ‘off to hook’ gives you a temporary sense of relief. But it does not fulfill the innate drive to better ourselves. It deprives our mind, body and soul from one of our basic human needs – self-actualization.

Goals and milestones are achieved when you take responsibility, authority and accountability for your time and actions.

By intentionally setting time aside to make authentic goals AND creating timelines and milestones to manage along the way – this is where you will experience a higher chance of real results.

Once your goals are written out and you see those words and ideas looking back at you, sit with them. Let your mind be free to visualize the process to achieve this goal and the impacts of ‘what if’ this goal is achieved.

Now, make a plan to achieve your goal(s). Create a plan that clearly identifies timelines and the actions or tasks needed to be put in place. Follow through and adjust, as needed.

Finally, it is vital to hold yourself accountable for your decisions and actions, while being patient and giving yourself grace as you learn a new way to play bigger, empower yourself and grow.

You are worth it.
